About Me
Hello! My name is Erika, and I have recently graduated with a master’s degree in GIS from Clark University, following a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the Ohio State University (2022). After completing my undergrad, I spent a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA with the County of Hawaiʻi, working with the climate action team and gaining hands-on experience in community engagement projects. Since then, I’ve worked with non-profits, local government, and federal agencies on GIS projects that blend environmental issues with spatial analysis.
GIS appeals to me because it combines data-driven analysis with design and communication, allowing for artistic freedom that shares meaningful information. My interests range from conservation GIS to international development work aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Outside of GIS, I love hiking, reading, and practicing yoga 🏔️📖🧘🏻♀️
